UP, Bengal book summit clash in national sub jr football
Haldwani, Oct 5 (UNI) Defending champions West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh will clash in the final of the 30th Sub Junior (U-16) National Football Championship here.
In the first semi-final today, Uttar Pradesh held on to their nerves to edge out Karnataka 4-3 via penalty shootout in a closely contested match.
Both the sides were tied 2-2 after the regulation and extra times. Uttar Pradesh made a remarkable comeback in the second session to wipe out a 0-2 deficit at the time of going for the breather.
In the second semi-final later in the day, Bengal defeated Punjab by a solitary goal. Sajal Das scored the all-important goal in the 18th minute.
The final will be played on Sunday.
