Turkmenistan hold Tajikistan in goalless draw in AFC Cup

Hyderabad, July 30 (UNI) Displaying its superb attacking skills, Turkmenistan held Tajikistan to a goalless draw to share the points in the inaugural match of the AFC Challenge Cup Soccer tournament here today.

Both the teams failed to capitalise on the opportunities that came their way but could not break the deadlock.

Turkmenistan's midfield led by Alikperov Vitaliy and Vyaceslav Krendelev looked solid as they constantly fed the forwards and created a couple of chances to put their team in lead.

Tajikistan goal keeper Tuchiev Alisher had to put extra efforts to stall the opposition's moves as Turkmenistan's forward Mamedaly Karadanov kept searching for the winner.

Tukhatsunov and Rabief Yusuf were good in making the moves in the penalty area. But all their efforts went in vain as the solid Turkmenistan defence stalled them.
