Sunderland has bolstered its squad with the acquisition of Chemsdine Talbi from Club Brugge. The 20-year-old winger has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League newcomers, costing them approximately £18 million (€21 million). Talbi had an impressive season in Belgium, scoring seven goals and assisting five times across 44 matches. His performances included two goals in Club Brugge's Champions League victory over Atalanta.During his time at Club Brugge, Talbi became only the third player to score twice in a Champions League match for the club. He achieved this feat at just 19 years and 285 days old, making him the youngest Belgian to do so. His contributions were crucial in securing a 5-2 aggregate win against Atalanta in the play-offs.
Talbi is Sunderland's fifth signing as they prepare for their return to the Premier League after several years. The club has also secured Habib Diarra for a record fee, alongside Reinildo Mandava, Noah Sadiki, and Enzo Le Fee on a permanent basis. Additionally, they are reportedly finalising a deal with Brighton for Simon Adingra.
