Spain vs England, Euro 2024: Four Players who may have biggest Impact in Final
After an action-packed four weeks of Euro 2024, the battle for the title of European Champion has come down to the final match between two giants of European football, Spain and England. They will meet at the iconic Olympiastadion in Berlin, Germany on Sunday (July 14).
These two rivals had met ten times in the past and have very competitive records as they both four times each and two matches ended in draws. A win in this final will be a historic fourth Euro title for La Roja and for the Three Lions, it will be their second consecutive Euro finals. The last time they met in this tournament was back in 1996 when the English side emerged victorious through a penalty shootout.

Euro 2024 Spain vs England: Recent Performances
La Roja are the only team in this Euro who remain undefeated throughout their campaign and ended the group of death with a perfect nine points. They defeated Croatia, Italy and Albania on their way to winning the group. In the knock-outs, two favourites Germany and France along with Georgia also had to bite the dust against this formidable Spanish side.
On the other hand, England had displayed a below-average performance in this tournament till the semifinal against the Netherlands. Three Lions won only one match in the group stage, against Serbia and drew the other two against Denmark and Slovenia. In the knock-outs, England defeated Slovakia, Switzerland and Netherlands and entered the final to win the title for the first time.
Luis De Fuente’s side has been phenomenal so far in this Euro, mainly due to an impressive young attacking line-up and a very dependable midfield led by Rodri. On the other hand, despite being one of the best sides in Europe they failed to reciprocate the same in the field. Their midfield, consisting of players like Foden, Bellingham, Rice, Mainoo and Saka has been brilliant all over the tournament.
Euro 2024 Spain vs England: Four Key Players in ESP vs ENG
Dani Olmo (Spain): The 26-year-old Spaniard has scored three goals in this Euro along with two assists. Olmo plays as a midfielder at RB Leipzig and is known for his playmaking ability and high-pressing football. He already has 11 goals for Spain in 38 matches.
Lamine Yamal (Spain): The Barcelona winger will turn 17 just two days before the Final and it would be a great season to remember for him if he manages to deliver the same performance he has been doing in this tournament. Excellent dribbling, passing and chance-creating abilities with consistency at such a young age already made him an indispensable part of La Roja. Yamal has three assists and one goal in this Euro.
Philip Foden (England): The Manchester City midfielder was brilliant in the match against France and has a history of stepping up in the big matches. Though he was not up to the mark just like most of his teammates in the past matches, in the semifinal his performance proved that he is back. The ability of excellent dribble and control made this left-footed youngster a complete midfielder though he can play in the forward role. His performance could be detrimental against the strong midfield of Spain.
Jude Bellingham (England): The 21-year-old Real Madrid star is heavily in the race for winning the Ballon d’Or for an overwhelming display of football across the season. Just like Foden, he is also lauded for his ability to control and dribble, but his versatility, techniques and physicality made him a more formidable midfielder. Bellingham has scored two goals in this Euro.
Given the performances in this Euro, Spain will be the favourite in this Final, but the strength, experience and skills of the Three Lions are currently unmatchable in current football. Hence, a neck-to-neck fight can be expected from this Sunday showdown.
