Soccer star Michael Chopra loses 15000 pounds in gambling

London, May 2 (ANI): Soccer prodigy Michael Chopra lost an astounding 15000 pounds in a two-hour betting spree.

The star was betting on horses and shocked punters with his desperate behaviour, throwing in notes by the fistfuls to finance a string of lost bets.

"By the end of it he was getting really moody and cursing and swearing. He was banging his hand on a table and tearing up his slips. I don't blame him. I'd be gutted myself," News of The World quoted another customer at the bookies, as saying.

The striker has gone back to his old ways. He had been in rehab two years ago to battle his gambling addiction following the breakdown of his marriage to model Heather Swan.
