Sao Paulo score thrice against East Bengal

Siliguri, Jan 27 (UNI) Sao Paulo of Brazil drubbed King Fisher East Bengal 3-0 in the Super Soccer match here today.

Carlinhos first booted home in the 35th minute and Paolo Marcos and Jean Marphail buttressed the tally in 61st minute and the stoppage time.

The Brazilians had almost toyed with India's one of the strongest sides in soccer and could have won by more goals had thier strikers not missed some sitters.

Before conceding a goal, East Bengal stubborn worded off challeinges and many thought they can put up a fight against the soccer giants. But the goal from Carlinhos showed how fragile the Indian side was in the remaining time.

Mid fielder Velber fed his players for the first two goals and Jean with a solo effort dodging past two defenders scored the final goal in the injury time.

Sao Paulo coach Antonio Carlos Silva appreciated the enthusiasm among the soccer fans who gathered in thousands at Kanchenjunga stadium here.
