Owen thinks Manchester City 'will be up there'

London, Sep. 22 (ANI): Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that the Premier League season will be quite eventful for Manchester City.

Although Owen is still delighted by his first home goal for his new club, he appreciates the fight City put up before losing 4-3.

"Manchester City have been quite impressive since the start of the season. You would think they will be up at the right end of the table," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

"Everyone is guessing how far up the table that is. Whether it is a European place or a Champions League place, I am not sure. But I definitely think they will be up there," he added.

Owen, 29, has started only one game this season - last month's defeat at Burnley - and has only two goals so far this season.

But he will get another opportunity tomorrow night, when United take on Wolves as they begin their Carling Cup defence at Old Trafford.

"Some games you get four chances and don't score. Other times you get one chance and you do score. That is the hard bit as a striker. You have to ride all the emotions and waves. You get criticised when you miss a few. You take the adulation when you score," Owen said.

"At this level you have to be right into the game despite sitting on your backside for the previous hour or however long it is. You get sent on to get a goal. Thankfully, that is what I did," he added. (ANI)
