Not Toni Kroos! Germany legend confirms likely retirement after Euro 2024 exit

Germany's Euro 2024 exit came in a thrilling encounter against Spain as the hosts bowed out of the competition in the quarterfinals.

A 119th-minute goal scored by Mikel Merino sealed the deal for La Roja at the expense of Germany, whose dismal run in major competitions continued.

And after the Euro 2024 heartbreak, the Germany fans may have further bad news as one of their legends has likely played his last game for the national team.

As per reports, Germany legend Thomas Muller has hinted at a possible retirement from international football after their Euros exit. Muller, while speaking with Sky Germany said that he may well have played his last match with Die Mannschaft.

"Yes, there is a high probability that this was my last international match with Germany," Muller said after the match.

It will come as a huge blow for the Germans if the 34-year-old retires from international football. Muller made his senior team debut in 2010 and since then has played 130 matches for them, scoring 45 goals. The Bayern Munich star was also part of Germany's World Cup-winning squad in 2014.

Although Muller's retirement is not official, another legend Toni Kroos retired from all forms of professional football after Germany's defeat. Kroos already had his club swansong in a sublime manner with Real Madrid where he won the Champions League, but it was rather a silent departure for the midfield maestro in the Germany colours.
