Minister inaugurates project for development of football

Kozhikode, May 4 (UNI) Kerala Sports and Youth Affairs Minister M Vijayakumar today said achievements in sports could be made through proper planning and basic development.

Inaugurating the state-level 'Vision-India' project here, he said the government was planning to setup 10,000 playgrounds and 1,000 stadiums in the state within three years.

The project, implemented in cooperation with Asian Football Federation, was aimed at developing the game of football in the country.

In the beginning, the project would be launched in seven districts in the state. As many as 2,246 children selected from 56 centres would get training under the programme.
