Paris Saint-Germain Triumphs Over Metz 3-2 In Ligue 1 Match To Claim Top Spot

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Metz at Stade Saint-Symphorien, climbing to the top of Ligue 1. Goncalo Ramos and Quentin Ndjantou provided PSG with a two-goal lead. Jessy Deminguet reduced the deficit for Metz, but Desire Doue's goal after the hour mark proved decisive. Giorgi Tsitaishvili's late goal made for a tense finish, yet PSG held on.

The reigning champions took control in the first half. Ramos opened the scoring at 31 minutes with a header from Lee Kang-in's cross. Shortly after, Ndjantou doubled the lead by converting Ibrahim Mbaye's low cross. Metz responded before halftime when Deminguet scored from a rebound after Habib Diallo's shot was blocked.

PSG Defeats Metz in Ligue 1 Clash

Returning from injury, Doue restored PSG's two-goal advantage with a composed finish following Mbaye's pass. Mbaye later hit the woodwork, and Doue had another attempt saved. Despite Tsitaishvili scoring in the 80th minute for Metz, PSG maintained their lead and moved ahead of Lens in the standings.

Despite expecting a more comfortable win based on their 1.74 expected goals compared to Metz's 0.57, PSG managed to secure victory. This result marked Metz's 15th consecutive Ligue 1 loss to PSG, making them only the second team to suffer such a streak against one opponent after Angers' 17 losses to PSG since 2016.

Lee Kang-in has been particularly effective against Metz, contributing to four goals in three matches against them—his best performance against any team in Ligue 1.

PSG's win over Metz not only showcased their resilience but also highlighted key performances from players like Lee Kang-in and Desire Doue. The team's ability to maintain composure under pressure was crucial as they continue their pursuit of success in Ligue 1 this season.
