Mankad-Ashutosh go down in final at Manchester

Manchester, Jul 21 (UNI) India's Harsh Mankad and Ashutosh Singh faltered at the last hurdle as they went down to top-seeded Australian pair of Adam Feeney and Robert Smeets in the final of the LTA Manchester Trophy here.

Seeded fourth in the tournament, the Indian pair fought hard after the loss in the first set but the Australian pair put aside their challenge to win the super-tie-break 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-10 at the grass court event yesterday.

With their title win, the Americans bagged 3,015 dollars and 55 ATP points, while Mankad and Ashutosh pocketed 1,745 dollars and 38 ATP points.
