Manipur girls continue winning spree in football

Margao, Nov 13 (UNI) Defending champions Manipur continued its winning spree by defeating Tamil Nadu 2-1 and Maharastra 4-0 in the football U-19 girls 53rd National Schools Games which are underway at Nehru stadium Fatorda here today.

Yesterday, Manipur outplayed Andhra Prdesh 25-0.

In the another two matches, Maharastra and Andhra Pradesh registered their first win by defeating Jammu&Kashmir 17-0 and 2-1 respectively. Maharastra's Shreshi Garg scored six goals, Bhagashri Swami 3, Pratima Singh and Roshami Carvalho 2 each.

In baseball girls U-17 events, host Goa today blanked Madhya Pradesh 10-0 homes and Delhi outplayed Andhra Pradesh 14-2 homes.

For Goa, Suvarna, Neha Bhomkar and Asha made 2 homes each, while for Delhi Hema, Khushboo, Sonam, Neha, Lathimne and Sunita also made two homes each.

In other two matches at the same venue, Andhra Pradesh beat Punjab 11-8 homes and Madhya Pradesh beat Maharastra 6-2 homes.
