Manchester United pre-season fixtures 2023: Blockbuster face-off await for the Red Devils

Manchester United and Erik ten Hag will be looking for even stronger foundations for his second season at Old Trafford after a fantastic first season in charge that saw the Red Devils win their first trophy in six years and finish third in the league.

After almost a month's break, United will begin their pre-season friendly across three countries - Norway, Scotland, and the United States.

The Red Devils will play their first friendly against recently relegated Leeds United on 12th July in Oslo, Norway followed by a game in Scotland, Edinburgh against Lyon.

Then they will travel to the United States for the first time in five years. They will face four matches over there including high-octane games against Arsenal ( 22nd July), Real Madrid (26th July), and lastly Borussia Dortmund (30th July).

Ahead of their first Premier League game against Wolves on 14th August, they will play the final pre-season match in Dublin on 6th August against Athletic Bilbao.

The Dutch coach faces a vital summer amidst the potential change in ownership of the club. Ten Hag has already lined up a slew of targets as he looks to bolster his squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is reportedly at the top of his list while a striker and goalkeeper signing is also his priority.

While the core of his team will remain several first-team stars like Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial is said to be facing a concerning future.

But with seven pre-season games planned, there will be plenty of opportunity for any new signings or sidelined players to impress.
