'We Love To Win Finals' - Ruben Dias Celebrates Man City's Victory At Wembley
Manchester City triumphed over Manchester United in the Community Shield, winning 7-6 on penalties. Ruben Dias expressed his delight at the victory, emphasising City's love for winning finals. The reigning Premier League champions avenged their FA Cup final defeat to United with this win at Wembley.
Bernardo Silva's last-minute header from Oscar Bobb's cross equalised Alejandro Garnacho's 82nd-minute goal. This dramatic finish set the stage for a tense penalty shoot-out. Dias praised his team for their resilience and determination, highlighting their ability to bounce back and secure the win.

"We’re happy to start the season in the way we have and obviously there’s a lot to come," Dias told ITV Sport. "It’s another trophy and we’re always happy to collect trophies. We’ve just had a long season and we still don’t have a full squad back but it is very good for us to start this way."
United seemed poised for victory when Andre Onana saved Silva's penalty. However, Ederson's save against Jadon Sancho and Jonny Evans' miss turned the tide in City's favour. Ederson himself scored a crucial penalty, showcasing his prowess as a penalty taker.
"Ederson is probably the best penalty taker in our team, Erling [Haaland] as well," Manuel Akanji told ITV Sport. "When Ederson takes the penalty, I know it is a goal."
Momentum for the New Season
This victory marks City's seventh Community Shield win and their first since 2019. The triumph provides them with momentum heading into their Premier League title defence, starting with a match against Chelsea next Sunday.
Bobb expressed his excitement about winning with a young group, stating, "This is a great feeling - the first time we have the trophy in a number of years. To do it with a young group is great. We had belief all the way through."
The win has boosted City's confidence as they prepare for the new season. Dias concluded by saying, "It’s very different circumstances to the FA Cup final but it’s a final and we love to win finals. The way we played, conceding a goal but then to make it 1-1, I’m very proud of all of us and very happy with the win."
