India-Lebanon pre-world cup soccer match shifted to Goa

Chennai, Oct 28 (UNI) Incessant rain led to the shifting of the India-Lebanon pre-world cup home match to Goa on October 30.

All India Football Federation officials told UNI here tonight that the decision to shift the venue was necessitated following heavy rains in Chennai due to the influence of the north-east monsoon and depression in the south-east bay.

The decision to shift the venue was taken by the AIFF in consultation with FIFA.

The organisers here are trying to accommodate both the teams in tomorrow's flight to Goa.

Non-stop rains since last night, ruled out any action at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here today for the all important match.

Though the organisers deferred the match to tomorrow, the heavy spell of rains forced the shifting of the contest to Goa.
