Former Indian footballer honoured

Kozhikode, Feb 26 (UNI) Former Indian soccer player Malappuram Moideen Kutty has been selected for T Abubacker Memorial Football Award for his contribution to the game.

Starting his career in Kozhikode's 'City Companians', Moideen, who represented Kerala and soccer clubs outside the state in various international tournaments, deserved the award, T Abubacker Memorial Football Trust chairman P V Gangadharan said in a release here.

The award, carrying a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and plaque, would be presented to him by Kerala Sports Minister M Vijayakumar at a function here on March three, it added.
