Former ace footballer Malappuram Moideenkutty passes away

Malappuram, Mar 14 (UNI) Former ace footballer Malappuram P Moideenkutty, who represented India in Merdeka tournament at Malaysia in 1968, passed away following a lung disease at Valiyanggadi in the district early today.

He was 62 and is survived by his wife Salmath Pattarkadavu, sons Sajan and Sahir.

Moideenkutty, who played for the Kerala Santosh Trophy team in 1962, 'Aligned' Kundra, Indian Railways, the State Bank of India many a times during his career spanning about one and a half decades, also represented the country in the Jakarta Asian Games in 1968.

His burial will take place at a Valianggadi Jamayath mosque in the evening.
