Ex-England footballer Paul Gascoigne fined $1300 over racist remarks
London, Sep 19: Dudley Magistrates' Court in western England imposed a fine of 1,000 pound sterling ($1,304) against former footballer Paul Gascoigne for making racist comments on his "An Evening With Gazza" show.
The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to racially aggravated abuse over a joke made at the show and admitted using "threatening or abusive words or behaviour" on November 30, 2015, reports Efe.

The Express & Star reported that Gascoigne made fun of a black security guard assigned to protect him inside a dimly lit room.
"Can you smile please, because I can't see you?" the former player of Tottenham Hotspur and Lazio asked the guard.
The judge imposed a fine of 1,000 pound sterling ($1,304), in addition to an equal amount to be paid to the security guard.
Gascoigne played 57 times for England.
