Crystal Palace Triumphs 1-0 Over Ipswich Town As Ismaila Sarr Scores Late Winner

Ismaila Sarr emerged as Crystal Palace's saviour once more, securing a late 1-0 triumph over Ipswich Town at Selhurst Park. This victory marks the Eagles' ninth win in their last 11 matches across all competitions. Despite the win, Ipswich's defence made Palace work hard for their success on Saturday.

Palace have been in excellent form this year, amassing 19 points since January. Only Liverpool have collected more points in the league during this period. Under Oliver Glasner, Palace achieved their 17th Premier League victory in his 41st game as manager. Only Roy Hodgson and Alan Pardew have more wins with the club.

Sarr's Late Goal Seals Palace Victory

Eddie Nketiah missed a golden opportunity to put Palace ahead in the first half. Sarr and Daniel Munoz also squandered chances after halftime. Jacob Greaves' block denied Eberechi Eze from close range, while Julio Enciso nearly scored for Ipswich shortly after.

The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when Sarr sprinted into the box and elegantly chipped the ball over Alex Palmer, securing the win. This result lifted Palace to 11th place in the Premier League standings, while Ipswich remained in 18th place, five points away from safety.

Eze's cross deflected off Dara O'Shea onto the post early in the second half as Palace sought a breakthrough. Ipswich remained dangerous on counter-attacks, with Liam Delap forcing Dean Henderson into a save and Jaden Philogene having a shot cleared off the line by Sarr.

Ipswich's Struggles Continue

Ipswich are facing difficulties this season, having failed to score in ten Premier League matches so far. They have not won any of their first nine league games of a calendar year for the first time ever (D2 L7). Their lack of goals contrasts sharply with Palace's recent scoring streak.

Sarr's late goal ensured that Palace have now scored in ten consecutive Premier League games. This is their longest scoring run since they netted in eleven straight matches between January and March 2019.
