Churchill Brothers enters IFA Shield final

Kolkata, March 28: Israil Gurung scored twice as defending champions Churchill Brothers defeated Shillong Lajong FC by a 2-0 margin to cruise into the final of the 115th IFA Shield with at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan here today.

The Goans took the lead when Gurung's ninth minute header went into the net from a Charan Rai corner.

Churchill held the 1-0 lead in the first half and in the second half completed the tally with Gurung again finding the net.

Gurung, who was adjudged man of the match, scored from a solo run in the injury time of the second half injury to complete the tally.

Churchill will take on the winners of Mohun Bagan and Southern Samity in the summit clash.
