Bournemouth Midfielder Alex Scott Urges Team Unity To Break Winless Streak In Premier League

Alex Scott emphasises the importance of unity within the Bournemouth team as they aim to overcome their current struggles in the Premier League. The Cherries have not won in their last six league matches, drawing two and losing four. They have also failed to score in consecutive games under Andoni Iraola for the third time, following a goalless draw with Chelsea.

Bournemouth managed 13 shots against Chelsea, marking their highest number without scoring in a home game since February against Liverpool, where they had 14 attempts. In the last five matches of the English top-flight, only Burnley and Wolves have collected fewer points than Bournemouth, leaving them 13th in the league standings.

Scott Calls for Unity to End Winless Run

Despite these challenges, Bournemouth is just five points behind Enzo Maresca's side, who are in fifth place. Scott remains hopeful that Bournemouth can achieve another successful run. "It's been tough and it's just been important that we stick together," he told the club website.

Scott believes that their performances haven't deviated much from their early-season form, but results haven't favoured them. "This is the Premier League. You are playing against top opposition every single week," he noted. He feels they haven't been far from their best but acknowledges things haven't gone their way.

The team's defensive issues have been notable, with more goals conceded from set-pieces than desired. Scott highlighted this aspect as an area needing improvement. "Stuff like that we've had to tighten up and the head coach is massive on that in keeping us together as one unit," he explained.

Scott remains confident about Bournemouth's potential when performing at their peak and stresses the importance of returning to that level. "We know how good we can be when we are at our best and it's important that we do our best now to get back to our level," he stated.

Upcoming Fixtures

Bournemouth's upcoming fixtures include a challenging match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Following this, they will host Burnley before travelling to face Brentford and Chelsea to conclude the year.

The team aims to improve defensively while maintaining cohesion under Iraola's guidance. Their focus is on regaining form and climbing up the league table by capitalising on upcoming opportunities.
