Bopanna-Qureshi sails into finals of Manchester Trophy Challenger

Manchester, July 21 (UNI) The Indo-Pakistani pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi stormed into the finals of the Manchester Trophy Challenger Series Tournament with an easy 6-4, 7-5 victory over Andrew Coelho and Adam Feeney of Australia.

The third seed Bopanna-Qureshi duo will now fight against the the pair of Jesse Huta Galung of Netherlands and Michael Ryderstedt of Sweeden for the title spot in the 25,000 dollar tournament.

In the other semi-final, the Duthch-Swedish pair also recorded a straight set victory over another Aussie pair of Luke Bourgeois and Alun Jones 6-3, 7-5.

Interestingly, Bopanna and Qureshi were pitted against each other in the singles quarterfinals of the tournament. While Bopanna is seeded seventh in the singles category, his Pakistani counterpart enjoys a much righer rank in the tournament as he is the second seed.
