Beto Shines With Brace As Everton Thrashes Leicester City 4-0 Under Moyes' Leadership
David Moyes, the manager of Everton, praised Beto after his impressive performance in a 4-0 victory over Leicester City. Beto, stepping in for the injured Dominic Calvert-Lewin, scored twice in the first half. This was a significant improvement as he had only one league goal before this match. Moyes emphasised Beto's crucial role, especially with Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja sidelined.
Moyes expressed his satisfaction with Beto's contribution, stating: "I'm really pleased for Beto because I'm only just getting to know him. He's probably felt it's been difficult for him. We need someone to score goals—we're short on centre forwards and losing Dom was a big blow—he came in and took his goals very well."

The Everton manager also highlighted the importance of Abdoulaye Doucoure's goal, scored just 11 seconds into the game. This goal set a record as the fastest by a player at home in Premier League history and is the fourth-fastest overall. Moyes noted that such an early goal provided a significant confidence boost for the team.
"When you get a goal so quickly it's a great confidence boost," said Moyes. "We backed it up with the second goal, which allows us to play. We were a bit unlucky not to score a few more at that time. At times, our first-half performance was very good."
Leicester City's manager Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledged that their poor start made it difficult to recover. His team conceded two goals within six minutes, which proved too challenging to overcome despite ending their seven-match losing streak against Tottenham previously.
Van Nistelrooy commented: "If you look at the scoreboard after 10 seconds and after five minutes if you look at the goals, of course, you don't do yourself any favours to come here and get a result starting like that."
Defensive Lapses and Game Dynamics
The Dutch manager expressed disappointment with his team's defensive errors leading to Everton's early goals. Leicester lost an aerial duel that allowed Doucoure to score first, followed by a simple pass from James Tarkowski setting up Beto for the second goal.
"You look at the first long ball, a duel, Doucoure is in," Van Nistelrooy added. "The second one, one ball down the channel. Good finishes. They were very effective."
Goodison Park Atmosphere and Future Goals
The atmosphere at Goodison Park was electric as fans chanted Moyes' name towards the end of the match. Moyes acknowledged this support but stressed that there is still work to be done to secure their Premier League status.
"I found the noise incredible," said Moyes. "I remember what it was always like. You have to give them something to shout about, and we did that from the start."
Moyes remains focused on ensuring Everton stays competitive in their remaining matches at Goodison Park while aiming for better performances in future games.
