Beckhams' charity donated nearly £1m to help children in 5 yrs

London, Feb 08 (ANI): Victoria and David Beckham have donated nearly 1 million pounds to charity for children in five years.

The noble organization named Victoria and David Beckham Children's Charity has reportedly handed over 913,269 pounds since 2005 to buying many state-of-the art wheelchairs.

"To have raised so much money and helped so many people is amazing. Some of these wheelchairs can cost £10,000 and they are life-changing," the Mirror quoted managing director David Watling, as saying.

However, donations to the fund have fallen from 102,209 pounds in 2008 to just 11,917 pounds last year.

Also, at the same time spending of the charity, run by Victoria's mother Jackie, fell from 335,502 pounds to 32,474 pounds.

Nonetheless, the charity contributed to 12 good causes in the year up to April 2009.

It included a 2,487 pounds donation to The Aids Mobility Centre which provides specialist wheelchairs.

In 2007, the celebrity couple had even bought disabled Callum Miller, two, a walking device. (ANI)
