Atletico de Kolkata outclass Kerala Blasters in ISL 2016 final: Twitter reacts

Kochi, Dec 18: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly's Atletico de Kolkata defeated his former teammate Sachin Tendulkar's Kerala Blasters in a thrilling final to clinch Indian Super League (ISL) 2016 title here on Sunday (December 18).

ISL final: Kolkata beat Kerala 4-3 on penalties to win the title

It was the second occasion in three editions of ISL when Kolkata bettered Kerela in the final to lift the trophy.

ATK defeated Kerala 4-3 on penalty shootout as the scores remained drawn 1-1 even after the extra time at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here.

With this win Atletico de Kolkata lifted the ISL crown for the second time in the short history of the home grown football league. ATK were the champions in the inaugural season of the ISL.

It was after two years when Sachin-led Kerala Blasters were outclassed by Sourav Ganguly's ATK, thus keeping the score between the two cricketing icons 0-2.
