Argentine captain Mascherano to join Barcelona?

Barcelona, Aug 13: Unofficial reports claimed that Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano is likely to join Spanish football club Barcelona.

Reports revealed that Barcelona signed a deal with the Liverpool for the Argentina captain.

Ole reported that the deal will be comprised of a player-plus-cash offer, with the Reds outfit set to receive midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb and approximately €15 million for Mascherano. It also claimed that Mascherano's agent met with Barcelona officials, and confirmation of the deal could come in the next few days.

Mascherano recently expressed his desire to leave his club Liverpool.
