Ancelotti Confident Brazil Will Succeed At The 2026 World Cup Despite Qualifying Challenges

Carlo Ancelotti remains optimistic about Brazil's prospects at the upcoming World Cup in North America, despite a less-than-stellar qualifying phase. The team, which has not secured a World Cup victory since 2002, has struggled to reach the finals in the last five tournaments. Ancelotti took over after leaving Real Madrid in May and has managed to qualify Brazil, winning four out of eight matches, with two losses and two draws.

Ancelotti is leading a national team for the first time and believes Brazil can have a successful tournament in 2026. "Brazil have fantastic players and we can have a fantastic World Cup," he told TNT Sports. He described his role as a unique experience, allowing him more focus on his team without the daily pressures of club management.

Ancelotti Backs Brazil for World Cup Success

Despite finishing fifth in South America's qualifying standings, trailing Argentina by 10 points, Ancelotti is confident about Brazil's potential next summer. He expressed enthusiasm for this new chapter in his career, appreciating the quieter pace compared to club football. "I love this period but it's different," he said.

The Brazilian squad includes several Premier League players. Ancelotti, who won the league title with Chelsea in 2010 and also managed Everton, continues to follow the league closely. "I am a fan of the Premier League and Arsenal have started really well," he noted. He supports Arsenal because of Gabriel Magalhaes and also backs Tottenham and Manchester United due to their Brazilian players.

Ahead of Friday's draw, Opta's supercomputer gives Brazil a 5.6% chance of winning their sixth World Cup next summer. This places them behind six other nations in terms of likelihood to win. The anticipation builds as Brazil prepares for the draw in Washington.

Ancelotti's appointment brings hope for Brazil as they aim to reclaim their status as world champions. With talented players and strategic leadership, they are poised for an exciting journey at the World Cup next year.
