AIFF shows keen interest to collaborate with Chelsea

Panaji, Oct 21 (UNI) The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has shown keen interest in collaborating with Chelsea Football Club, to improve the standard of the game in the country and take it to a higher level.

AIFF Secretary Alberto Colaco, speaking to mediapersons today in the presence of Chelsea Football Club Chief Executive officer (CEO) Peter Kenyon and Indian football coach Bob Houghton, said as a primary step India would like to have their collaboration for guidance in coaching the players and improving administration of clubs in India.

Kenyon, who arrived in Goa yesterday with an aim to help get a better understanding of Indian football and seek to develop the relationship between Chelsea and AIFF, had a informal meeting with AIFF secretary Mr Alberto Colaco and Goa Football Assocation (GFA) President&state minister Joaquim Alemao.

Kenyon said India is emerging as an economic power and there is lot of scope of improving Indian footall at a higher level.

Indian coach Bob Hougton, who was present in the meeting, expressed satisafaction over AIFF's interest in collaborating with Chelsea.
