AFC honours P P Lakshmanan

Kannur, Feb 26 (UNI) FIFA appeal committee member P P Lakshmanan has been honoured with the ''Golder Star'' award, instituted by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Mr Lakshmanan is the first Indian selected for this award, AFC president Mohammed Bin Hamam said in a release here.

The award, comprising a medal and a citation, were presented to him on February 15 at a function held at Kuala Lumpur by AFC secretary Dathopaul Mani Samuel.

Mr Lakshmanan was selected for the award in recognition of his contribution to the growth of football in India especially during the last three decades.
