AFC committee to conduct inspection tour in India

New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) The Ad-Hoc Committee formed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to enhance the standard of football in the continent will visit India on an inspection tour, an AFC statement said here today.

According to the AFC, the two member commitee consisting of Tokuaki Suzuki (Deputy Chairman) and Satoshi Saito (Chief Officer) will visit the country from November 4 to 8.

They will inspect the stadiums and training facilities of the clubs taking part in the inaugral Indian Professional Football League starting from November 23. They will also interact with club officials in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Goa.

The committee was formed to conduct an intensive research on the football leagues of 22 member countries of the AFC and help them to form successful professional leagues. The countries implementing successful professional leagues would be chosen to participate in the restructured AFC Champions League.

The delegation will be assisted by AIFF General Secretary Alberto Colaco and AIFF Project Director Satyajit Sadanandan.
