WC 2015: India top group table after 4 matches with no loss, first time in WC history
Perth, March 6: India beat the West Indies in their fourth consecutive match at the World Cup Down Under and became the first team to qualify for the quarter-finals from Pool B with two matches remaining.

This is the first time India have won first four matches played at World Cup and remained at the top of the points table. Here is a look at India's position in the group table after a minimum of three matches (in case the number of teams in the group is four) in all the World Cups played since 1975:

- 1975: 3rd position among 4 teams after 3 games won 1 lost 2
- 1979: 4th position among 4 teams after 3 games lost all 3
- 1983: 2nd position among 4 teams after 6 games won 4 lost 2
- 1987: 1st position among 4 teams after 6 games won 5 lost 1
- 1992: 7th position among 9 teams after 8 games won 2 lost 5 no result 1
- 1996: 3rd position among 6 teams after 5 games won 3 lost 2
- 1999: 3rd position among 6 teams after 5 games won 3 lost 2
- 2003: 2nd position among 7 teams after 6 games won 5 lost 1
- 2007: 3rd position among 4 teams after 3 games won 1 lost 2
- 2011: 2nd position among 7 teams after 6 games won 4 lost 1 tied 1
- 2015: 1st position among 7 teams after 4 games won 4 lost 0 [India are yet to play Ireland and Zimbabwe]
