Why is Arrest Virat Kohli Trending on Social Media? Check Out the Reason, Know Why the Trend is Wrong

After the horrific stampede which took 11 lives in Bengaluru, a new social media trend has started, where netizens are demanding the arrest of Virat Kohli.

RCB's IPL 2025 title celebration turned to a tragedy as Bengaluru saw people dying amid the stampede outside of the Chinnaswamy Stadium. On Wednesday (June 4), people came to join the victory parade but some of them never went back home.

11 lives were lost - strikingly, all aged under 30. There are women and kids among the deceased, who were killed in the incident. The Bengaluru police has already made a few arrests and one of them is the RCB Marketing Head Nikhil Sosale.

Despite concerns from the Bengaluru Police, Sosale was adamant of the victory parade and announced it on social media, causing a massive crowd to pour across the Vidhana Soudha area and Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Although the matter is being under investigation, a section of netizens have demanded arrest of Virat Kohli on social media. The RCB star spoke highly about the fans after winning the IPL, which ended their 18-year-long drought.

"I've stayed loyal to this team, no matter what. I've had moments where I thought otherwise, but I stuck to this team. I stood behind them, they stood behind me. And I always dreamt of winning it with them. This is far more special than winning it with anyone else because my heart is with Bangalore, my soul is with Bangalore," Kohli said after the match.

But a section of fans on social media claim that Kohli's words haven't been executed in his acts. As per some social media posts, Virat Kohli demanded the RCB parade on Thursday and they have tried to portray Kohli as a part of culpability. Although a few reports have claimed the RCB parade was fast-forwarded for some reasons, those are vague and unconfirmed.

Virat Kohli Scapegoating is Grossly Disgrace - Why? Check Out!

To be very honest, this needs to be stopped. Virat Kohli was not the organizer of the celebration, RCB and the Karnataka State government were. It is not Kohli's fault that people came to see him and get a glimpse of him.

A few have asked why the ceremony still continued at the Chinnaswamy Stadium after the news of those deaths. Well, again, it was upto the RCB management and they should have taken the onus and conveyed the message to the fans.

It looked sickening as the RCB players lifted the trophy inside the stadium while people were dying outside, but pointing out Virat Kohli for this issue is nothing but lame and wrong! Does Virat Kohli receive a clean chit? Absolutely, because he has no role in this mishap.

Who is at Fault?

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, without a shadow of doubt. It was them who announced a victory parade would take place. Also, the Karnataka State government can't wash their hands in this fiasco. KSCA has already made a petition citing the government called for celebration, which makes them even bigger responsible.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police wanted the victory parade to be cancelled, which was ignored by the franchise, and they invited people to join in, misleading them. Even when the deaths took place, RCB had the onus to completely cease the function, but they failed to do so. The celebrations had to be stopped the moment the news broke out. The lives that have been lost won't come back. They were RCB fans, they came to celebrate, some with family, but instead, had to face an agonising death. The harrowing incident which unfolded outside Chinnaswamy needs to be a stern reminder, or else, we may witness future mishaps.
