Under 25 cricket tourney final tomorrow
Lucknow, Apr 17 (UNI) Aarohi Builder's and UP Timber will clash for the top position of the All India R D Bharadwaj under 25 Cricket tournament at the K D Singh Babu Stadium here tomorrow.
In the semi finals held today, Aarohi Builder's beat Mini Mount Club by five wickets at the K D Singh Babu Stadium, while UP Timber won by a narrow margin of four runs over Indian Air Force (IAF) at the Chowk Stadium.
In the first semis, Mini Mount scored 210, which consisted Saurabh's well compiled 80 and hard hitting 43 by Amit Singh.
In reply, Aarohi Builder's innings took off shakely losing five wickets at the half way. Thereafter Amit Mehra (57) and Dhananjay (53) batted with grit giving a winning 112 runs unbeaten sixth wicket partnership.
In the second semis, UP Timber defended their 176 runs innings against IAF. Timber's Deepak Yadav (65*) was the top scorer.
Chasing a victory target of 177, IAF batsmen failed miserably.
Only Devendra Israni (71*) gave resistant to Timber bowlers, while the wickets at the other tumbled at regular intervals.
Left arm leg spinner Agha Shahid prevented Israni in the last over of the innings to score the required five runs by removing last man.
