Umar Gul ruled out of first Test due to back injury

New Delhi, Nov 21 (UNI) Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul was today ruled out of the first Test against India at Feroz Shah Kotla tomorrow due to back injury.

''Gul had a strain and pain on his back. We did not want to risk him by fielding at tomorrow's Test, so we have ruled him out,'' Pakistan media manager Ehsan Malik told UNI.

''We did a scan on Gul's back today and will consult an orthopaedic surgeon tomorrow,'' he added.

Malik said the team management will decide on the future course of action on Gul only after assessing the injury.
