Pune, Feb 25: Australia thrashed India by 333 runs in the first Test match of the 4-match series at Pune today, February 25.

It was Australia's first test match win in India since 2004 and they did it in style by completely outplaying the hosts.

Steve O'Keefe was the pick of the bowlers for Australia who 12 wickets in the match, 6 in each innings conceding only 70 runs.
O'Keefe's performance was the second best bowling performance by a visiting bowler after Sir Ian Botham 13 wickets in 1980.
Batting first Australia managed o score 260 runs. India were bowled out for just 105 runs as O'Keefe's deliveries brought chills down the batsmen's spine.
Australia were again bowled out for 285 runs on the third day but they took a huge lead of 440 runs.
India were once again crushed as they were bowled out for 107 runs within 33 overs.
Australia go 1-0 up in the four-match Test series in Pune. The two sides lock horns in Bengaluru in the second Test on March 4.
