Tight security for Indo-Pak Volleyball test series
Visakhapatnam, Aug 4 (UNI) Tight security arrangements were being made for the first two matches between India and Pakistan in the Volleyball Test Series to be held at Port Trust Rajiv Gandhi A C Indoor Stadium here on August 7 and eight, City Police Commissioner N Sambasiva Rao said today.
Addressing a press conference here, he said both the teams would arrive here on August six after the Commonwealth championship in Kolkata. Special security would be provided to the Pakistan team at the hotel and the stadium and two control rooms would be opened.
Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) Vice-President S Kodanda Ramaiah said that in the five-match India-Pakistan Test Series, the other three test matches would be played in Chennai on August ten, Coimbatore on August 12 and Hyderabad on August 14.
The District Volleyball Association, which organised the fourth Asian Volleyball Championship in 2003 and 13th World Men's Volleyball Championship in 2005 here, was proud to conduct the India-Pakistan test series for the first time, Mr Ramaiah said.
Entry would be free for those from North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, he added.
