Tickets trickle out for first ODI
Dhaka, May 8 (UNI) If the excitement generated around the Indian team's arrival be taken as a quotient for ticket sales, the results of the first day are disappointing.
Ali Hossain, member secretary of BCB tickets' committee, said, ''Only 30 per cent tickets have been sold for the first ODI on May 10 at Mirpur on the opening day of sale, which is lower than expected.'' Tickets at Mirpur and Imamgunj branches of AB Bank have been sold out, but we have reports that only 30 per cent sales have been recorded in total,'' he added.
He added there were longer queues for the second ODI on May 12 which is a weekend.
In Bangladesh, Friday and Saturday are public holidays.
However, he sounded hopeful of a full house on May 10 as the sales are bound to pick up in the last 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the Indian team settled down at their hotel and spent the time whiling about, besides attending a team meeting. They start practice later today.
