Test status: Match referee 'happy' about Hyd stadium
Hyderabad, Sep 7 (UNI) ICC match referee Allen Hurse approved the arrangements at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal Industrial Park near here.
A former Australian fast bowler, Hurse, who arrived in the city this morning, inspected the dressing room, pavilion, gallery and enquired about the media facility and security arrangements.
Shivlal Yadav, former India off spinner and Hyderabad Cricket Associaton (HCA) General Secretary, apprised him of the security arrangements and public amenities in the 58,000-capacity stadium.
After his visit, Mr Hurse, who refused to speak to the media, expressed his satisfaction about the infrastructural facilities in the stadium.
Hyderabad, which had earlier hosted three test matches, all against New Zealand, at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, is awaiting ICC decision to gain recognition as a test centre.
Mr Hurse will leave for Visakhapatnam tomorrow to visit ACA-VDCA Stadium, as per the request of Andhra Cricket Association for granting ICC test status to it.
