T20 World Cup 2024: How did Team India players fare in IPL 2024? Every Member Rated by IPL performance
The T20 World Cup 2024 is about to commence from Saturday (June 1). India will again start as one of the favourites to win the ICC tournament.
It hasn't been a happy hunting ground for the Indian team in ICC tournaments. The T20 World Cup in the past two editions saw them getting knocked out from the group stages in 2021, followed by a semifinal exit in 2022. In the 50-over World Cup, the heartbreak is still vivid among the fans.

As another T20 World Cup is just days away, India will be hoping to sharpen their axes for the colossal clashes. This is also likely to be the swansong for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in this format, hence the onus will be on the entire unit to showcase their prowess and lift the T20 World Cup.
Team India has announced a strong squad for the tournament. Rohit Sharma is to lead the team while Hardik deputizes. An in-form Virat Kohli will be key in the batting, while Jasprit Bumrah is all set to spearhead the pace attack.
India Squad for T20 World Cup 2024
Rohit Sharma (C), Hardik Pandya (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah
Travelling Reserves: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed
Just before the World Cup, the IPL 2024 season has concluded. All of the 15 squad members, along with the four travelling reserves took part in the competition. The likes of Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya returned to professional cricket through the IPL after a long injury lay-off. Here is how they performed and their IPL 2024 ratings-
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma scored 417 runs for Mumbai Indians this season. He batted at a Strike Rate of 150 and got one half-century and a century in the IPL 2024, but the Paltans finished at the bottom of the table.
IPL Ratings: 5/10
Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya dominated the headlines for all the wrong reasons in the IPL 2024. He had a torrid time leading the Mumbai Indians as the player was subject to ridicule from his own fans as he replaced Rohit Sharma at the MI helm. But even as a player, Pandya struggled. He scored only 216 runs all season and picked up 11 wickets in a massively underwhelming season.
IPL Ratings: 3/10
Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli was a revelation for RCB in the IPL 2024. The batting stalwart scored 741 runs and won the Orange Cap as his team reached the playoffs after a fantastic run of six consecutive victories. The way Kohli batted in the IPL, it will be a massive boost for India if he can replicate the same in India colours.
IPL Ratings: 8/10

Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 435 runs for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024. He had a strike rate of around 156 and scored one fifty and a century in the competition. The southpaw was brilliant in patches for RR and will be hoping to rise higher in his first-ever ICC tournament for the senior team.
IPL Ratings: 6.5/10
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav was at his fluent best for parts of the IPL 2024 season. He played 11 matches and amassed 345 runs at a strike rate of 167. The batter returned to cricket after an injury and will have huge responsibilities in the upcoming World Cup.
IPL Ratings: 6/10
Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant made a return to create after 15 months and he looked pretty decent, both with the bat and behind the stumps. The Delhi Capitals captain was the highest scorer for his team with 446 runs with an average of over 40. He was not at his devastating best, but with the much more match fitness under his belt, Pant can go berserk in the T20 World Cup.
IPL Ratings: 7/10
Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson scored 531 runs for Rajasthan Royals this season. The 29-year-old was sublime with his batting and played some scintillating knocks as RR came 3rd in the competition. He scored 5 half-centuries and had a strike rate of 153. Samson will be a strong contender to be India's number one wicketkeeper for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
IPL Ratings: 7/10
Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube had a sublime first half of the IPL 2024. He scored 396 runs in total and was a menace for the spinners. But the issue with Dube is that he ended underwhelmingly in the tournament. Since the India team announcement, Dube managed only 46 runs in his final five IPL innings for the Chennai Super Kings.
IPL Ratings: 7/10

Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja had a moderate IPL 2024 campaign. The CSK all-rounder scored 267 runs with the bat at an average of 44, but was hugely underwhelming with the ball, with just 8 wickets in 14 matches. It was not the best season for CSK, and certainly far from best for Jadeja.
IPL Ratings: 5.5/10
Axar Patel
Axar Patel was decent in his bowling with 11 wickets. The DC all-rounder bowled pretty economically as well. Also batting at a lower position, Axar scored 235 runs with a strike rate of 131 and also managed two half centuries.
IPL Ratings: 6/10
Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav was yet again brilliant for Delhi Capitals. The left-arm wrist spinner picked up 16 wickets and was one of the best bowlers for his team. Although he went expensive occasionally, Kuldeep will be a big weapon for India.
IPL Ratings: 7.5/10
Yuzvendra Chahal
A sublime start to the IPL 2024 earned Yuzvendra Chahal a place in the India squad. The leg-spinner ended with 18 wickets in 15 matches for the Royals, but his form also dipped at the latter stages of the tournament. The 33-year-old will be hoping to showcase his prowess in the tournament.
IPL Ratings: 7.5/10
Mohammed Siraj
Mohammed Siraj became more threatening in the latter half of the season for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The pacer ended up with 15 wickets but it was not the best for Siraj in the first half of the season. The pacer is likely to be on the bench for India if they go with two pacers in the starting lineup.
IPL Ratings: 6/10
Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep Singh was hugely expensive, but was a wicket-taker for Punjab Kings. The left-arm pacer scalped 19 wickets in 14 matches as Punjab had yet another disappointing season.
IPL Ratings: 7.5/10
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is a modern day maverick in bowling and perhaps the best pacer India has ever produced. Bumrah, amid the dismal season for Mumbai Indians, was the sole bright spot.

The MI pacer picked up 20 wickets in 13 matches, but his economy rate is staggering. Amid the batting blitzkrieg, Bumrah conceded only at 6.48 runs per over and was excellent across the stages of a T20 match. The 30-year-old will be the main man for India in the T20 World Cup.
IPL Ratings: 9/10
