Shocked PCB hints at restructuring game
Karachi, Mar 18 (UNI) Pakistan's shock ouster from the World Cup has prompted the PCB to adopt a future strategy to restructure and improve cricket in the country.
While commenting on the team's poor performance in the World Cup, the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Dr Nasim Ashraf yesterday expressed deep disappointment and shock over the dismal performance of the team.
Having taken over as chairman of the ad hoc committee less than six months back, Dr Nasim said he and other members of the Board had decided to maintain continuity and stability as the best option to strengthen the team.
The Pakistan Cricket Board issued a press release over the dismal performance in which it only hinted about adopting a future strategy to improve the cricket structure, according to a report in leading daily 'The Dawn'.
However, there was no mention of how to deal with the cricketers, who were involved in the shocking ouster.
Minnows Ireland sent Pakistan crashing out of the World Cup in their debut appearance in the showpiece event.
