Sehwag, Ishant shine as ONGC storm in Hot Weather final
New Delhi, June 22 (UNI) A quick-fire 59 by Team India discard Virender Sehwag, and paceman Ishant Sharma's three-wicket haul fashioned ONGC's clinical seven-wicket win over FCI as the Oilmen booked a berth in the final of the DDCA Hot Weather Cricket Tournament here today.
Sehwag, who is in ominous form in the tournament, came up with another swashbuckling performance scoring a breezy 59 in 57 balls.
The innings was studded with four hits to the boundary and three over it.
Earlier in the day, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) won the toss and elected to bat. FCI scored an impressive 210 in 39.3 overs, thanks to the efforts Rajinder Bisht (77) and Akash Malhotra (67).
For ONGC, Ishant Sharma was the pick of the pack. He scalped three wickets for his team at a miserly average of 2.5 runs in eight overs. Rahul Sanghvi, another former India player, bagged three wickets for 33 runs in 4.3 overs.
ONGC started their chase in the usual 'Sehwag flavour' with three of his batsman scoring half centuries. Sehwag along with Radhey Shyam Gupta (54) and Mayank Tehlan (57) helped ONGC surpass the target set up by the FCI.
