Sachin's gloves fetch Rs 1 lakh in auction
Kolkata, Feb 23 (UNI) The pair of gloves which 'master-blaster' Sachin Tendulkar wore during his marathon innings of 196 three years ago at Multan in Pakistan has fetched Rs 1 lakh in an auction hosted by cine-star Mithun Chakraborty here.
In the first bid, the cine superstar of 80's raised the price of the gloves to Rs 50,000 and invited the audience to join him for a ''cause''.
Finally one Nilratan Dutta, who came as an invitee at the Golden Jubilee Award presentation ceremony of the Calcutta Sports' Journalists' Club (CSJC) here last night, won the bid for the coveted gloves with a price of Rs 1,00,011.
CSJC president Gautam Bhattacharjee later said that the fund collected from the auction would go for the treatment of the ailing former FIFA referee Pradip Nag.
