Sachin ruled out of Bangladesh tri-series, Asia Cup

{image-sachin latest_29052008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Mumbai, May 29: India today suffered a big blow when master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was ruled out of the Bangladesh one-day tri-series, as he had not recovered fully from his groin injury.

Tendulkar, who had missed the first seven matches of the Indian Premier League owing to injury, had been declared unfit by Mumbai Indians physiotherapist Nitin Patel for the June 8-14 tri-series, also involving Pakistan. ''Tendulkar is not available for the tri-series as well as the Asia Cup on the advice of Mumbai Indians physiotherapist Nitin Patel. He has not recovered sufficiently from the groin injury,'' BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah told reporters.

Tendulkar will also skip the Asia Cup, which will be held in Pakistan from June 24 to July 6, he said. The batsman sustained the injury during the recently concluded Australian tri-series, which India won.
