Sachin guides India to victory; completes 15,000 runs in ODIs
Belfast, June 29 (UNI) Sachin Tendulkar (93) fell in nineties for the second successive time but not before setting stage for India's six-wicket series-leveling win over South Africa in the second of the three-ODI series here today.
Chasing a target of 227 runs, Sachin and Sourav Ganguly (42) rolled back the years putting up a huge 134-run opening partnership.
The Master Blaster, who missed his 42nd ton by one run in the last match, fell short by seven this time but, in the process, became the first man to score 15,000 runs in the one-day internationals. Sachin was castled by spinner T Tshabalala for 93 (106 balls, 13x4, 2x6).
However, both Sachin and Sourav fell in quick succession and the side lost a couple more but Yuvraj Singh (49) and Dinesh Karthik (32) there were no further hiccups as the duo saw India home with five balls to spare.
Langeveldt scalped two for 43 while Ntini and Tshabalala took one wicket apiece. With today's win, India leveled the three match series 1-1.
