Sachin appointed vice captain

Chittagong, May 18 (UNI) Sachin Tendulkar has been appointed vice-captain for the Test series against Bangladesh which commenced here today.

Indian cricket team's administartive manager Surinder Bhave said, ''Sachin has been appointed vice-captain for the Test series.'' India had appointed no vice-captain for the ODI series. The team of course did not have Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly as they were rested.

Interestingly, V V S Laxman was appointed vice-captain for the Test series in South Africa.
