RR vs SRH IPL 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Smashes Third-Fastest IPL Century Against Hyderabad
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lit up the TATA Indian Premier League 2026 on April 25 with a blistering hundred for Rajasthan Royals against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, reaching three figures from only 36 balls.
The left-hander’s assault featured 5 fours and 12 sixes, giving him the third fastest century in league history. Sooryavanshi also sped to his fifty in just 15 balls and, during the same innings, moved past 1000 T20 runs as the youngest player to reach that mark.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi IPL form against top attacks
Across this IPL season, Sooryavanshi has hammered bowling attacks with a 26-ball 78 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a 17-ball 52 versus Chennai Super Kings, and a 14-ball 39 against Mumbai Indians, showing consistent aggression in different match situations.
The teenager has already attacked some of the most respected fast bowlers in world cricket and appeared calm. Sooryavanshi struck Jasprit Bumrah for six from the first ball faced and also took on Josh Hazlewood without visible nerves, underlining confidence beyond usual teenage levels.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi IPL rise and India prospects
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who turned 15 last month, continues to rise rapidly after his 175 in the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year. Reports suggest selectors are considering him for India's T20I tour of Ireland in June, which could make him the youngest senior debutant.
Despite a dropped chance, he smashed another quick fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad and followed it with a 36-ball hundred. His performances have drawn praise from Krishnamachari Srikkanth.
Srikkanth said, "When I went on a tour as captain in 1989, that time there was a prodigy at the age of 16– a young boy called Sachin Tendulkar. Today, he's the god of cricket. Similarly, this boy can be the next demigod of cricket. I think this boy has got tremendous talent," he added, quoted the Indian Express.
With a rapid century for Rajasthan Royals, a string of quick scores this season, youth records, Under-19 World Cup success, and growing national interest, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi now sits firmly in focus as India weighs options for the upcoming Ireland T20I tour.
