Rayudu's knock in vain as Badani strikes gold

Chennai, Jan 28 (UNI) Ambati Rayudu's masterly century (103) went in vain for Hyderabad Heroes as former Indian cricketer and left hander Hemang Badani struck an unbeaten 88 to guide Chennai Superstars to a two wicket win in the ICL 50s cricket tournament here today.

Badani was declared the Man of the match.

This was first win for Chennai Superstars after they lost their opening match yesterday.

Batting first, Hyderabad scored 263 in 50 overs, thanks largely to Rayudu's century and his 161 run stand for the third wicket with Anirudh Singh (77). Vignesh claimed three wickets for Chennai team.

Chasing the target, Chennai Superstars got off to a decent start losing their first wicket at 37. S Sriram and opener Hemant Kumar (64) put on 79 for the third wicket.

A couple of wickets saw the Chennai team in a spot of bother, before Badani had to half century stands with Vasanth Saravanan and P Vivek for the fifth and seventh wickets, before guiding the team to win.
