Raydu hits ton as Hyderabad-Rajasthan match ends in a tame draw

Jaipur, Dec 4( UNI) A brilliant unbeaten 110 by Raydu was the highlight on the last day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite group B tie which ended in a tame draw at the SMS Stadium here today.

Pragyan Ojha was, however, the hero for Hyderabad as he dashed hopes of the home team, dismissing Kabir Ali and Mohd Aslam, the overnight not out batsmen, today and enabled his side to record a vital first innings lead early this morning.

Hyderabad thus dismissed Rajasthan for 353 in reply to their first innings score of 385 and secured two points taking their tally to four points.

The match was called off with 15 mandatory overs still remaining after the two captains agreed to this. Hyderabad had by that time made 279 for 4. Ravi Teja after adding 137 for the third wicket with Raydu was unlucky to miss his century as he was dismissed by Pankaj Singh.

Hyderabad will now meet Gujarat at home in their next tie to be played from December 9 to 12, while Rajasthan will take on Maharashtra on the same dates at Ratnagiri. Rajasthan had beaten Gujrat in their last encounter earning four points, while Hyderabad had prevailed over Maharashtra on first innings lead to earn two ponts.
