Ram Mandir Pran Prathistha: Virat Kohli could not make it to the historic event on Monday, January 2022, but his duplicate grabbed massive attention and was literally mobbed by the locals in Ayodhya.

Virat Kohli had got the invitation to be part of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony which symbolised the homecoming of Lord Ram after 500 years, but the former India captain skipped the big event understandably due to "personal reasons".

The BCCI in release on Monday revealed that Kohli would also miss the first two Test matches against England due to "personal reasons". Fans and media were also requested not speculate the reason.

As millions of Virat Kohli fans eagerly waited to get a glimpse of their favourite cricketer on their TV and mobile screens, a video of the lookalike of the star batter emerged.

In the video, the Virat Kohli duplicate can be seen wearing the Indian cricket team jersey and sunglasses while trying to impersonate the former captain. The locals can be seen surrounding him for pictures. After enjoying all the attention for a while, the doppelganger tried avoiding getting mobbed, but the attempt proved to be unsuccessful.

Several icons of the Indian sporting fraternity arrived in Ayodhya to be part of the inauguration of the Ram Lalla temple. The Pran Pratishtha' ceremony was led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the Ram Lalla idol was unveiled.

Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Ravindra Jadeja, Anil Kumble, Mithali Raj and Saina Nehwal were among the sports stars who were in attendance at the Ram temple consecration ceremony on Monday.

The likes of MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma were also invited but they remained in the list of noticeable absentees. Rohit is currently in Hyderabad gearing up for the first Test against England from January 25.
