Rajasthan Royals announce appointment of batting coach Vikram Rathour in grand fashion

Rajasthan Royals confirmed the appointment of Vikram Rathour as their new batting coach on Friday, September 20. The former India batting coach will be reunited with Rahul Dravid, who was recently named the new head coach of Rajasthan Royals.

Dravid and Rathour worked closely together as the head coach of the senior India men's cricket team. Their stint ended with India's T20 World Cup 2024 triumph by beating South Africa in Barbados on June 29.

"Having worked closely with Vikram for many years, I can confidently say that his technical expertise, calm demeanor, and deep understanding of Indian conditions make him a perfect fit for the Royals," Dravid said on Rathour's appointment.

"Together, we've built a strong rapport, guiding India to key successes, and I'm thrilled to reunite with him. His ability to nurture young talent and elevate players' potential will be invaluable as we aim to further strengthen our squad and continue building a world-class team here at Rajasthan Royals," he added.

Vikram Rathour, who played six Tests and seven ODIs for India, also expressed his pleasure at getting to work with Rahul Dravid once again. He said their goal will be not only developing players for Rajasthan Royals, but also for Team India.

"It's a privilege to be part of the Royals family. The opportunity to work again with Rahul, and now with a talented group of young cricketers, is hugely exciting. I look forward to contributing to the team's vision and working toward our goal of developing top-class players for the Royals and for India which can help in winning championships," he added.

The social media handles of Rajasthan Royals made some stunning posts to announce the appointment of Vikram Rathour.
